Visiting Lavenderland: A Guide to Our Richmond Lavender Farm
Lavenderland is a family-run lavender farm in the heart of Richmond, British Columbia. We grow, harvest and steam-distil our own lavender here on the farm, and through the blooming season we open the fields to visitors. If you are planning a first visit, here is everything worth knowing before you set out.
When to Visit
The fields are in bloom from mid-June to mid-September, with the strongest colour from late June through early August. We grow three cultivars and they take their turns:
- Superblue · mid-June to mid-August
- Melissa · early July to mid-September
- Grosso · mid-July to mid-September

For the softest light, come early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Weekends and holidays are our busiest times — booking ahead is recommended, though walk-in visitors are welcome subject to availability.
Opening Hours
During the blooming season the fields are open Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Last entry is one hour before closing.
Our gift shop stays open year-round, although off-season hours may vary.
Getting Here
We are at 8460 Steveston Highway, Richmond, BC V7A 1M3, on Steveston Highway between No. 3 Road and No. 4 Road. The entrance is on the south side of the highway and will be on your left when you are travelling westbound. Please slow down and signal early — the turn comes up quickly.
There are twenty-five complimentary parking spaces on site, first-come, first-served. No reservation is needed, but during busy periods it is worth allowing a little extra time.
By transit, take the 403 Three Road bus and get off at Steveston Highway at Roseland Gate. The farm is right beside the bus stop.
What to Wear and Bring
We recommend comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothing suited to the weather. A hat, sunscreen and a reusable water bottle will make the visit more comfortable on a warm afternoon.
This is a working farm, so bees and other insects are a natural part of the environment — they are busy with the lavender and generally uninterested in visitors.
Accessibility
Our on-site washrooms are wheelchair accessible. Farm pathways are primarily gravel and sand and some areas are uneven, so an all-terrain or outdoor-capable wheelchair will give a more comfortable experience. If you have specific accessibility questions or would like help planning your day, please get in touch before your visit.
Photography
Personal photography is welcome throughout the farm. Tripods may be used, but please keep them outside the lavender rows so the plants are not damaged.

For the safety and privacy of our visitors, drones are not permitted anywhere on the farm.
Good to Know
- Pets are not permitted on the farm. Guide and service dogs are welcome.
- Picking the lavender is not permitted, by hand or with tools. Fresh and dried bouquets are available in the gift shop if you would like to take some home.
- Outside food and picnics are not permitted. Lavender kombucha, ice cream, soft drinks, slushies and snacks are available on site.
- Children aged 3 and under visit free of charge. Children aged 4 to 12 need a Children & Seniors Admission ticket.
- Payment in the gift shop: cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
The Gift Shop
Everything we make begins in the field. We distil our own lavender on the farm and turn it into essential oils, hydrosols, handcrafted body care, candles, and culinary goods. You can browse the full range online or visit the shop while you are here.
Workshops
Our Meet Lavender Workshop runs through the season and includes general admission, so you can arrive at any time during opening hours and stay for the fields as well. The workshop itself runs at your scheduled session time.
